So pretty even on a cloudy day! Was very nice just to walk around the palace and look at the beautiful buildings, we did not buy tickets to go inside but I do recommend people to come here and just have a look! You can also see when they change the guards, which was super cool!

Great architecture. Interiors remind me of Versailles. Self guided tour cost 11 Euros. Taking pictures inside is not allowed. Bags must be stored in lockers costing 1 euro. Save time by buying online and skip the line for getting tickets on-site. Paella and roast pork loin in the cafeteria were very salty. Steamed veggies is overcooked. Poor cafeteria service.

The best thing in Madrid! Such a beautiful palace and the rooms are breathtaking splendour. I have visited hundreds of castles but this is one of my favourite. The rooms are so unusual especially the porcelain one and one has silk embroidery on the walls. The que doesn't take long around 10min for me arrived at 4pm they close at 6 but start to close the armoury etc at 5.30pm so go earlier but the sunset here is the best so maybe around 3.30pm. Get the Audio / multimedia guide. Book in advance for royal kitchen it was full when I went. Tickets around €15.

A wonderful palace and a must go if you are visiting Madrid. The tickets were 10€ and student discount is only available if you're under 26. It is easy to find your way around as they have organised the visiting as a one-way route through the palace. You should save yourself at least an hour to go and note that during winter season the palace closes at 4pm. It would be more exciting if the royal family would use it more often.

The royal palace of Madrid is the crown of the beautiful architectural experience in Madrid. With more than 3000 rooms, it indeed is an spacious wonder. Built on the place of the old and less exciting city palace which was brought down due to fire. It seems to be a decent advancement. Looks stunning in the day time and very beautiful under the lights at night. There is an entry fee in the day time. Free entrance is offered to EU residents and the residents of South America 4 days a week for two hours before closing.
