Bike Spain was very helpful. I could choose a good bike that fitted me, and the people there explained what was the best way to go. I was helped by a dutch girl, which was great because my Spanish is not very well

We got lost frequently as directions were lengthy and confusing but that's the only issue and in the end we enjoyed the adventure. The hotels were delightful. The breakfasts amazing. I would skip the dinners if I do it again as they were the hotels "half board" and only so-so. There were so many good and cheap restaurants everywhere we went that it would have been more fun to do that. Highly recommend this company. and their tours.

The bike I rented here (an aluminum Orbea Aqua) was in top condition, and they went to the trouble to size it and test it. They also suggested routes in Andalucia where I was headed. However, bike rentals are a sideline here - next to bike tours - and it does feel a bit casual. When I reserved, it took a week and a follow-up e-mail to get a confirmation. I e-mailed to tell them when I would be there and that also required a second e-mail to get a response. But then they were surprised when I arrived. If you come to get the bike with a car, plan your parking carefully as there is none available in front or on Calle Mayor. I wish that Bike Spain had taken the initiative to explain that when I reserved.

We had the best vacation ever doing the self-guided Emporda wine tour. My husband brought his own bike and I rented one from the company. The bike they gave me was a Trek mountain bike with a pannier full of equipment such as spare tube, patch kit, etc. The bike was very good and necessary to have a mountain bike since we biked over many unpaved bike paths through the Costa Brava.

When we asked what if the rate could reduced based on the poor performance they didn't seem to care. I would avoid this place, there are other bike rental places within walking distance.

While the carbon frame road bikes we rented looked nice upon pickup, they turned out to be a disaster. Both bikes had such shotty gear systems that we had to turn back after only 15k, even after several attempts at adjustments. BOTH bikes could only use some of the gears and couldn't successfully switch into others. We were very disappointed having hoped to ride much further to take advantage of the excellent bike paths in the north of Madrid.

She also gave me a very nice map of Madrid. So if you go to Madrid, rent a bike at Bike Spain!

I had Bike Spain arrange for bikes to be in Leon as we began our ride on the Camino. They also arranged our lodging for six nights and helped me scope out the number of miles each day, gave me the contact info for train tickets, etc. We had three rooms each night and rented a car so we took an unguided ride on hybrid bikes. Tamara, who organized everything, was absolutely terrific, as was one of the mechanics when I called to ask specific questions about routes. Everything went like clockwork, the places were what we expected, the routing guide was excellent, and the bikes worked. (For me, who is used to a carbon road bike, the steel-frame, hybrids were heavy, and two of them were a little beaten, but we had no flats and no problems we couldn't fix within five minutes, I felt this was an experience of a lifetime, and renting the bikes was far less hassle and far cheaper than bringing them from the US.) It rained or snowed four of the six days of our ride, so going was slower than expected (one day we started at 9:30 and arrived at 7 p.m.). I would definitely go with them again!

Last week I visited Madrid for the first time, and for the first time I rented a bike in a foreign country to see the city. It was great! I can advice everyone to see Madrid by bike: you see more in less time, and your feet don't get hurt at the end of the day!
