  First and foremost, the hotel staff are exceptionally helpful. Having just arrived in Madrid early one morning, completely exhausted, I had seven hours to kill before my 2pm check-in. After only 30 minutes of waiting in the hotel's cafe, Marina at the front desk came downstairs to inform me that a room was available. Music to my ears!!

  REALLY NICE in about everything. A nice view from the room, one unexpected balcony, best wifi signal/speed everywhere, breakfast simple but very well served. Staff 24h helpful and receptive. The only downside is that you'll have to pay extra for a private bathroom, since this is inside a Hostel. In my stay that wasn't a problem since the bathroom was shared with only another room and nobody was booked there for half my stay.

  If I was writing a review based on location alone, Hotel Puerta del Sol would get 5 stars. But a number of other features also make this a great hotel...

  The cafe downstairs with free coffee, water and fresh fruit is great!
