  Class is building and room, not the usual high rise with modern furnishings . Good atmosphere an location, across street from Retiro park and a minute walk to main street Alcazar

  Over the years I have stayed in way too many hotels to remember -however this hotel is the best of all! The rooms are comfortable,quiet and clean but most importantly is the staff. They were kind, courteous and answered every question and need. We ate every breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The food was good and the ambience comfortable and relaxing and quiet. I would go back to this hotel for the staff alone!! Thank you,Alan and Nancy Fischer

  Luxurious hotel with great view to park del retiro. I like the restaurant very cozy, small but good gym, I wish the spa would work already

  Historic designation, but service needs to be brought up to the same esoecially for Marriott loyalty patrons in terms of complimentary amenities and restaurant meals (e.g. complimentary hot breakfast). Also, they can do a better job preparing the suite we stayed in. There were no washcloths, hairdryer, and we had a blocked remote for English-speaking patrons, all remedied after each requests but very tedious and frustrating to deal with on one's vacatio. I am not sure why this hotel was designated 5-stars. It certainly could not be due to the service but to its historic designation, perhaps? I wish them luck in making these changes.

  Everyone who works there is super friendly. On the other hand, we checked in on October 18th (Wednesday) when the price for 1 night was around $700-$800 euros! We (3 guests) walked into the room, the room did not look like a 5-star hotel at all, it only looked like 3 stars. It was too small and definitely not 5-stars!!! Anyways, after exactly 4 minutes, I personally walked into the bathroom to use it and I was the first one out of the three to walk into the bathroom since they both walked into the room and passed out on the bed and none of them checked the bathroom out, I pulled the toilet led up trying to use it, and I was shocked!!! There was old/yellow drops on the top of the toilet (where you sit)!!! Yellow drops of piss! Yes!! I was so shocked! For the price of that night and a 5-star hotel, they must put plastic wrap on the toilet just to show it has been cleaned recently! Anyways, we called the reception, the manager showed up and her reaction was like it’s fine!! All she said is that she’s going to send someone to clean it! Really?!! For a 5-star hotel! We cancelled with them and went to a normal apartment whih was a lot cheaper and a lot bigger and it had a balcony, and the first thing I did is went to the toilet, I opened it, and there was a plastic wrap on it!!!! And that apartment is only 3-4 stars!!
