  My husband and I very disappointed by the car return service to Madrid airport office! I believe, the office employees were cheating us. On our way back to return the car we got stuck in a traffic and had very short period of time before our flight. He did park a car on the front of the rental office, behind the shuttle bus and asked the office employee for assistance. First, we been told to park a car to the lower level parking garage that is located far away and has a vary narrow entrances. We explained an emergency situation and asked to help, again. Female employee agreed to help and went out of the office with me. We observed the car together, no damage was found and she verbally confirmed that everything looks ok and we're good to go. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to get her signature on my copy of contract. So, we jumped to the shuttle and left without any written confirmation. Two days later I received an invoice for 225 Euro for "minor bumper damage"! We feel been cheated and very disappointed! Rental office used our emergency situation and took an advantage of us! We're very experienced drivers with clear record and absolutely had no damaged the car! I'm writing a negative review, even though, I never complained about any service previously. At this time, I feel that it's necessary to prevent future renters to use Centauro and particularly Madrid's airport office!

  I booked this rental through Holiday Autos and had purposely selected full to full for my fuel option and therefore had no need or desire for any "convenience" in changing my mind about my preferred fuel situation.

  I was not given any information that stated that this was part of the rental agreement until basically being held to ransom at the desk, either having to accept this charge or not have the hire car that I needed for onward travel.

  Although the car we picked up in Madrid was clean and in good repair I was furious to be forced to pay a compulsory 25 Euros charge for the "convenience" of their flexible fuel policy.

  Very good experience! Shuttle stop was easy to locate at terminal 2. Bus came within minutes. Office in neat hotel. On the way in five mins after arrival there in a Peugeot 5008 at a surprisingly low cost. What I especially like about Centauro is that you can easily see the existing damages on the car in your account online. No worries about charges.

  We rented a car from Madrid for 12 days for driving in Spain and Portugal. The service given in the Madrid Centauro office was extraordinary and very friendly On top of that, we were offered a competitive upgrade offer to a very new Toyota Hybrid car, which was quite new and a pleasure to drive. I can recommend Centauro for renting a car in Spain.

  Checking the car back in did not come with the same level of attempts at "gotchas" that the agency in Italy or the various agencies in Canada I used in the past, and I was really impressed with their understanding of normal wear and tear that is to be expected.

  One member of staff was doing his best to be helpful but needed to refer to a more senior colleague who was atrocious. His manner was argumentative, aggressive and disrespectful.

  Really more of a 4.8 star rating, just for the fact that it was near impossible for me to pinpoint where to catch the shuttle bus to the hotel. This may have been my own failing, though.

  But other than that, this was probably the best car rental experience I have ever had, between Canada, the US, Norway, New Zealand, and Italy. The price was amazing, the car I got was fantastic (for the price) and it was very clean and well-maintained. The service desk personnel were extremely friendly and helpful, and understanding of my poor Spanish speaking abilities.
