  So much classic art. A wonderful museum with lots of great artist and sculptures both Greek and Roman. The bottom floor was my favorite including the El Bosco exhibition. Goya and Velasquez as well. For 15 Euro a pop it's definitely worth a visit when in Madrid. If you wait for closing you can also go in for free within the last two hours of the day. You will have to check the hours of operation depending on the season and day (Sunday's close a little earlier).

  Definitely an amazing collection. It may be better for those who are really into that art period. For me, not a connoisseur, after the first section all paintings started blending into one another and I got really bored. I went to the Reina Sofia museum a few years ago and I enjoyed it a lot more as the styles, colours, etc, felt more diverse for the average uncultured people like me.

  I came on a Sunday afternoon which happens to be free from 5-7 pm (17hr-19hr). After a long day of walking around I feel like spending 1.5 hrs here it’s pretty decent. And I say 1.5 hrs because the line to access the museum could be very long although it moves quite fast. I spent that time just seeing the ground floor. I’m planning on coming next Sunday afternoon to see the first floor. With all that being said, If you are coming early enough to just walk around the museum and see the exhibits then this museum it’s a must. They have an amazing collection of Italian, German, British French and of course, Spanish paintings. Expect to see a few sculptures and also some temporary expositions

  Really great museum. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour I had but especially liked the little bookstore in it. There were books in Spanish and some in English and I got a couple of each. There are also some unique things you can buy in the gift store with various artwork prints on them.

  Normally very expensive at 15 Euros. But they let people in for free 2 hours before closing! Despite the VERY long line, I think they let everybody in eventually so it's worth the savings. I lined up 30 min before the free time so got in quickly. Inside is huge and lots of great art to see. Best to plan ahead though as you can get quite lost in the maze of art and hallways. Great collection.
