  Well, not really impressed about it. My expectations were not really high but I was expecting something more than that at the city historical museum. This is Madrid for God's sake....! The back patio with the "Fuente de la Fama" is nice and clean but way too aseptic without any reference or description.

  An excellent and modern look at the history of Madrid using art from the various periods. I would have liked some more interactive displays. The map room with a model of Madrid in the 19th Century is easily missed (and should not be missed). It's a wee trek from the centre, so it's quieter than most museums and galleries.

  It's completely worth going, as you can take a good taste of the city's history without paying a fee. It's free and it's in a very beautiful building which can be a landmark itself.

  Nice paintings. A charming museum where you can basically learn everything about Spain. Quiet and elite. Some days free admission offered.

  The staff is really kind but not really helpful, thanks God for the the English/Spanish text next to the paintings.
