  If you have a sweet tooth (or not!) this is a must seen / must be in atmosphere in Madrid, and definitely a must try. And it is right there by the metro station at Sol.. so totally approachable. Yes, yes... stand in the line and enjoy the old ways of ordering a little piece of heaven. People have come to this historic place for generations and generations, locals and foreigners meet here for the most exquisite bakery and pastries of all times! Even if you really don’t want to buy anything, you gotta at least go inside and breathe the atmosphere that surrounds you... it is a once in a lifetime opportunity... believe me... you will end up buying something and will feel like a kid again with your piece of sweets for the day. Do not miss this delicious experience of an authentic and historic place in Madrid!

  Run down, shabby, very basic quality. I guess you could call it the quintessential Madrid experience. Go to any other European capital and you can be dazzled with crisp service and attention to every detail. Here the motto should be "We're not good but we're cheap" or "Our best is good enough".

  An iconic place in Madrid. I always come here in special occasions. Their variety of sweets and its quality are definitely worth trying, even though it's a bit expensive. Delicious sweets

  A bit expensive but very high quality treats! Service was quick and polite. Food definitely yummy, although some may be a bit too sweet. Good experience as an English speaker. If taking to go, there's a cute little package which they wrap up and tie with string!
