  Overcrowded, lots of beggars, dirty, no places to sit, no grass or trees, cars everywhere, loud, tonnes of police presence which make you feel less comfortable than sure (how are they going to fire those machine guns with so many people walking around?)... The Sol square should be remodelled and made into a small park with benches, trees and a working fountain or even a few smaller ones. The current place is anything but enjoyable experience for those of us who live and work in this area. We avoid it at all costs if we can.

  The nucleus of all commercial and touristic activities en Madrid capital. The six major highways that cover the whole regions of Spain originates or count their kilometre distance from Puerta de Sol. There is a 24 hour live here. Major shopping malls close at 22:00h but other smaller shops, bars and restaurants are open all through the night. There is good security here as can police on foot, on horseback, cars stroll the streets up and down. Anyone visiting Madrid without stopping at Puerta del Sol is like he/she never visited Madrid. There is where the action and fun starts and ends.

  It's a very central spot. Great metro connections and you'll have to come here to go to many restaurants or clubs.

  Location location location. Host friendly easy to get on with. Apartment is modern and big with 2 bathrooms. Can't wait to return and definitely refer to friends and family.

  the place to be for new year's eve in Madrid. At all other times it is a busy square full of street artists & lottery ticket vendors. Also a handy place to sit while waiting for your travel companions to finish shopping. Cafes & good shops close by

  Other than thats good to visit one es and move away, it doesn't have any inherent touristic attraction otter than the picture with the bear.
